Our Story
It started with rocks, sticks, and pine cones: beautiful, smooth rocks that our daughters would find on walks through the park, knobbly sticks that became magic wands; pinecones that became a window into the wonder of the natural world. These were treasures, talismans that connected our children to the Earth. But where could they put them? Certainly not in the tiny, decorative "pockets" on most girls' pants, if they had pockets at all.
We founded PocketGirl because we were tired of the absurd double standard in kids' clothing. Boys get sturdy pants with real pockets. Girls get leggings that offer no warmth or protection, or pants with pockets so small they're essentially useless. And when girls blow out the knees (which they absolutely will, because kids are kids), those pants become instant trash.
Our daughters deserve better. They deserve to carry their treasures, climb trees, dig in the dirt, and move freely. They deserve clothes that last.
